Luis Filipe Batista
FounderLuis Filipe Batista founded the Atlanticos Band in 1977 as drummer and singer, together with his brother Carlos (vocals, guitar) and Augusto Micera (keyboard). Over the years, the band became the most famous Portuguese band in Germany, Holland, Benelux, and Switzerland. They played mainly for the Portuguese community, as well as on various Portuguese TV shows. In 1984, as the band's leader and organizer, he began organizing events and performances of various musical genres with renowned artists from Portugal. These became internationally known within the Portuguese world.
From 1997 onwards, he organized various major events, which led to the Atlanticos Band performing as the opening act for the biggest names in the Portuguese music world. The name Atlanticos Band (as a band and as an organization) developed into a name of trust in collaboration with several Portuguese television stations, in whose formats the band was a regular guest in Portugal.
In 2005, he founded his first record label for his own compositions and the production of newcomer Nadine D. This led to a collaboration with Romanian superstar Liviu Guta, and both appeared on several television shows in Romania and Portugal. The contact is still maintained today. In 2013, the idea for a unique project was born overnight: Estrada Fado Group, a fado ensemble with an extraordinary and unconventional line-up of international musicians. The enthusiasm of experts for such a novelty and the response from the audience were so great that concerts took place not only in Germany but internationally, from Istanbul to Lisbon. The premiere was in Neuss with the support of the city of Neuss in March 2014.
Since the 1980s, Luis Filipe has been in contact with Portuguese artists such as Clemente, for whom he has been writing songs since 2019, with Clemente contributing the lyrics. This brought a unique style and new momentum to Clemente's career. Clemente often expressed his gratitude for this, and at the same time, a deep friendship developed between them, based on great trust. Since 2019, Clemente has released several jointly written songs each year, which have been very successful. In October 2024, Clemente will come to Germany to record and produce songs that are scheduled for release in 2025.
Luis Filipe says:
